Capture Life Beneath the Surface — in a City That Lives on the Edge of Dreams and Discovery
Every image tells a story — and as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you are both technician and storyteller. With every scan, you reveal what can’t be seen, offer comfort in moments of uncertainty, and play a vital role in life-changing diagnoses. It’s meticulous work. It’s deeply human work. And in Los Angeles, it takes on a dimension as vibrant and expansive as the city itself.
We’re seeking a patient-focused, detail-oriented sonographer to join a dynamic imaging team in one of the most diverse, fast-paced medical environments in the country. From maternal-fetal scans and vascular studies to emergent abdominal imaging, you’ll deliver precise diagnostics while offering compassionate care — all in a region where innovation is the norm and opportunity lives around every palm tree-lined corner.
What You’ll Do Every Day:
- Perform routine and complex ultrasound exams with accuracy and clinical confidence
- Interpret and follow physician orders and established imaging protocols
- Position patients comfortably while ensuring safety and optimal image acquisition
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, including portable devices for bedside exams
- Collaborate closely with radiologists, nurses, and physicians to ensure timely, actionable results
- Document all procedures and patient data accurately within RIS and PACS systems
- Promote a supportive, respectful patient experience in every interaction
Education Required:
- Graduate of an accredited (CAAHEP) Diagnostic Sonography program
- Associate degree required; bachelor’s preferred
- Allied health or radiologic tech degree with 12 months of full-time sonography training also acceptable
Certifications You’ll Need:
- ARDMS credential in at least one specialty (Abdomen required within one year of hire)
- OB/GYN or Vascular credentials preferred
- CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
Skills That Make a Difference:
- Strong understanding of anatomy, pathology, and ultrasound physics
- Experience with PACS/RIS and digital imaging workflows
- Empathy, calm communication, and cultural sensitivity with diverse populations
- Ability to multitask and adapt in high-volume, high-acuity environments
- Physical strength to push equipment and assist patients as needed
Why You’ll Love the Role:
- Competitive compensation
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits
- Competitive PTO and holiday pay
- Continuing education and tuition reimbursement
- Full-time day shifts with flexibility and supportive leadership
- State-of-the-art imaging equipment and a team that values collaboration, respect, and growth
The Pulse of the West Coast: Where the Ocean Meets Opportunity
Living and working in Los Angeles means waking up every day in a place where ambition meets inspiration — where mountains, beaches, art, and medicine collide in full technicolor. This isn’t just a city. It’s a sprawling, living mosaic of cultures, cuisines, languages, and lifestyles.
Here, your morning commute might take you past towering murals in the Arts District or down boulevards lined with jacaranda trees. The coffee in your hand could be from a cozy vegan cafe in Silver Lake or a family-run panadería in Boyle Heights. And once you arrive at work, you’ll serve patients who span every generation and background — from world travelers and actors to teachers and new parents.
On your days off, adventure waits in every direction. Head west for the coastline, where sunsets over Venice Beach remind you to breathe. Drive east and find yourself among boulder fields and desert blooms in Joshua Tree. Or stay local and take a hiking trail to a hilltop view, where the skyline stretches into the haze and everything feels possible.
The city also feeds the soul. World-class museums like The Getty, LACMA, and the Academy Museum line up alongside street performances on Hollywood Boulevard and pop-up galleries in converted warehouses. The food? Unmatched. From Michelin-starred sushi to Korean BBQ, taco trucks, Ethiopian cafés, and Persian bakeries — you’ll eat your way across the globe without leaving the county.
And yet, even in all this movement and brightness, there are quiet moments. A prenatal scan that brings tears to a mother’s eyes. A vascular image that leads to life-saving care. A calm voice — your voice — guiding a nervous patient through an unknown. This is where healthcare becomes human, where clinical excellence meets deep empathy.
The Team That Has Your Back
Here, you’re never just a number on a schedule. You’re part of a multidisciplinary team committed to the highest standard of care — and to one another. Radiologists respect your insights. Nurses count on your steady hand. Administrators invest in your growth. From mentorship programs to continuing ed credits, we’re serious about helping you build a future.
And we know wellness isn’t just for our patients. We offer employee assistance, wellness programs, childcare benefits, retirement planning, and paid education. Your health, goals, and family matter to us, and we act like it.
